20 ft & 40 ft shipping containers

Custom ISO Shipping Container Conversions

Custom shipping container conversions start with a genuine 20-foot or 40-foot ISO freight container rather than a purpose-built modular cabin. We coordinate the base container, steel cutting, reinforced door and window openings, corrosion treatment, insulation, internal lining, electrical services, plumbing, HVAC and architectural finishes as one conversion package for the intended use and destination.

Why genuine ISO?

A heavier-duty starting shell for demanding commercial use.

Compared with a lightweight sandwich-panel cabin, a genuine freight container begins with a robust corrugated-steel shell, heavy corner posts and ISO corner castings. This makes it a strong base for secure cafés, kiosks, workshops and relocatable commercial units.

Project-specific delivery

A genuine freight container converted for a new use.

This product starts with a genuine ISO shipping container—not a purpose-built modular cabin. The container condition, dimensions and identification are checked before openings, reinforcement, insulation and services are developed for the required accommodation container, office, café, kiosk, workshop, storage or technical-room use. Standard and high-cube 20-foot and 40-foot bases can be selected around internal height, layout and transport requirements.

Robust starting structure

A genuine corrugated-steel freight container provides a durable base for project-specific conversion.

Flexible fit-out

Openings, partitions, insulation, electrics, plumbing, HVAC and finishes are coordinated around the intended use.

Distinctive architecture

Original corrugated steel can remain visible or be combined with glazing, signage and project-specific cladding.

In-house engineering

Every new opening changes the original load path

Doors, windows and large façade openings are reviewed together with local steel reinforcement, lifting points, corrosion treatment and the proposed internal fit-out. The insulation, vapour control, internal lining, service cavities and penetrations are then coordinated around the destination climate. Structural modifications are designed for the completed unit and its intended handling conditions; the original freight-container rating or CSC status must not be assumed after conversion.

International delivery

Conversion scope and transport route agreed before fabrication

The quotation identifies the base container, condition standard, structural alterations, envelope build-up, services, finishes, equipment interfaces and factory testing. External dimensions, added projections, completed weight, lifting method and destination access are checked before transport is priced. Units can be delivered substantially factory-complete or with selected loose items protected for transport.

Frequently asked questions

Technical and commercial starting points.

Is this the same as a modular or monoblock container?+

No. An ISO shipping container conversion uses a genuine freight container as its base. A monoblock modular cabin is purpose-built as a building module and normally offers greater freedom in dimensions, wall systems and service integration.

Which shipping container sizes can be converted?+

The most common bases are 20-foot and 40-foot standard or high-cube ISO containers. Availability, container condition, transport limits and the required internal clear height are checked for each project.

Can you add large windows or full-height glazing?+

Yes, subject to an engineering review. Cutting the corrugated sidewall changes the load path, so framing and local reinforcement are developed around the size and position of each opening.

Can a converted container still be used for international cargo shipping?+

Do not assume so. Structural alterations may affect the original CSC approval and cargo certification. The intended transport method and any required inspection or recertification must be agreed separately.

Do you supply used shipping containers?+

New or used containers can be considered subject to availability and an agreed condition standard. The quotation will state the base-container condition and included repairs.

Can an ISO container be converted into accommodation?+

Yes. An ISO accommodation container can include insulation, internal lining, windows, beds, wardrobes, desks, lighting, sockets, HVAC and a bathroom where the available width and layout permit. The narrow internal width and service space must be considered carefully.

What insulation can be used in a shipping container conversion?+

Mineral wool, PIR or another project-appropriate system can be coordinated with the internal lining and vapour-control strategy. The selected build-up depends on climate, fire requirements, condensation risk and the internal space available.

Can you deliver a complete container café or office?+

Yes. The agreed scope can include reinforced openings, doors, glazing, counters or furniture supports, electrical installation, lighting, HVAC, plumbing provisions and internal finishes. Catering equipment and local approvals are confirmed separately.
